A "Different" Kind of Church: how secular marketing is fueling church competition | Out of Ur | Conversations for Ministry Leaders
A "Different" Kind of Church: how secular marketing is fueling church competition | Out of Ur | Conversations for Ministry Leaders
I found this to be an interesting article, although I think it takes things a bit too far. In summary, it says that if you call your church "different", you are going out of your way to say that your church is better than other churches. I get that, but if your church really is different in a fundamental way and you are telling people what you are for - not against - I don't see the problem...

Changing the Face of Christianity
Change the Face of Christianity
Wouldn't it be great to change the face of Christianity? For the past 2000 years people have been busy labeling Christians in a frankly unpleasant light. What if you could be a part of changing all that? Members of Headwaters Church are seeking to do just that in an innovative approach to discipleship. The people of Headwaters take a Sunday each month and go into the community to show God's love to people by serving them.

Christian Church Helena MT
Christian Church Helena MT
The Bible says, "…let us love not with words or tongue but with actions and in
truth" (1 John 3:18). Headwaters Covenant Church, one of Helena's newest
churches, is trying to do just that. Headwaters takes the last Sunday of every
month, and in place of having a regular church service, goes into the Helena
community to serve. The growing church has served many individuals and
organizations including the YWCA, God's Love, Helena Food Share, Big Brothers
Big Sisters, Montana Youth Homes, Prickly Pear Land Trust, The Red Cross,
Catholic Social Services, Montana Supporting Soldiers, Intermountain, and The
Friendship Center. The purpose isn't simply community service. Instead,
Headwaters members want to demonstrate God's love to people by serving them. The people at Headwaters have the goal of pursuing a faith in Jesus that is
authentic - a faith that is more than words. Additional details can be found in
